TMC can't love DMK, can't leave it either

[Details] The cracks between the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC), papered over in the past, are now in the open. Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi mounted pressure on the DMK's ally yesterday when he indicated in Chennai that his party might review their partnership. The DMK has been deeply unhappy over the TMC's reluctance to come to its defence on the Jain Commission report.

Parikh issues liquor permits

[Details] The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticised the Gujarat government for issuing liquor permits to four hotels in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar recently. According to party's MLA and former Revenue Minister Ashok Bhatt just after swearing in as the chief minister of Gujarat, Dilip Parikh issued liquor license to two hotels, Inder Residency and President in Ahmedabad, which he said exposed the government's stand on prohibition.

Gopal had gone to the forest to discuss the modalities of surrender, including its venue and timing, even as the Special Task Forces (STFs) launched combing operations to nab the brigand.
