Statescape -- Gas leak-affected children in Faridabad hospitalised
FARIDABAD: Nearly 40 school children were re-hospitalised on Tuesday when they complained of nausea, eye irritation and severe headache at night following Monday's gas leakage accident here. Principal medical officer of district hospital, S K Puri, described the problem as ``late after effect'' of the accident. The children were hospitalised on Monday but were discharged after a few hours. Child specialists and eye surgeons are attending to the children. Though their condition is stable, they are being kept under close observation, doctors said. The police has registered a case but no arrests have been made so far. Gujarat Cabinet expansion postponed GANDHINAGAR: The much awaited expansion of council of ministers of the month-old Dilip Parikh ministry in Gujarat is likely to be delayed by a week in view of the political turmoil in Delhi. Parikh, who had announced to expand his ministry on Thursday last, could not make it since Governor Krishnapal Singh had extended his stay in Delhi. ULFA militant killed in encounter TEZPUR: A hardcore ULFA militant died in an encounter with the security forces on Tuesday morning in Madhubangaon in Sonitpur district. Police said one ultra was captured while another managed to escape. Sources said one SLR, two magazines, 26 rounds of ammunition, some bomb-making wires and incriminating documents were recovered. The slain militant was identified as Paniram Das alias Ananta Deka. Mishra anticipatory bail hearing today PATNA: Former Bihar chief minister Jagannath Mishra filed a petition in a designated CBI court seeking anticipatory bail in the muti-crore fodder scam case. Rashtriya Janata Dal president and former chief minister Laloo Prasad Yadav, who is also one of the accused in the case, has been already granted bail by the court after the Patna High Court held as illegal his detention in judicial custody. CBI special judge S K Lal will hear Jagannath Mishra's anticipatory bail plea on Wednesday.
