Traffic arrangements for test match

MUMBAI, December 2: The Mumbai Traffic Police have made elaborate traffic arrangements to ease traffic congestion during the first cricket test match -- December 3 to December 7, '97 -- between India and Sri Lanka at Wankhede stadium, Churchgate.

* Traffic regulations:

One way - D road shall be one way for vehicular traffic from its junction with N S Road (Marine Drive) to its junction with the Indian Merchants Chamber road (E road) from 8 am to 4 pm, whereas it will be one way in reverse direction.

C road shall be one way for vehicular traffic from its junction with IMC Road to its junction with N S Road from 8 am to 4 pm.

E Road shall be one way for all types of vehicles from its junction with D road to its junction with C road between 8 am and 4 pm.

* Parking restrictions:

Parking of all types of vehicles shall be prohibited on both sides of D road, C road and IMC road from 6 am to 4 pm so as the Eastern side of N S Road from Sundar mahal junction to its junction with H road from 6 am to 6 pm. No parking will be allowed on both sides of M K Road from its junction with Anandilal Podar marg to its junction with V N Road (Churchgate junction) from 6 am and 6 pm.

* Parking arrangements:

Angular parking will be permitted on the Western pavement of N S Road between G road and Air-India building junction between 8 am and 6 pm as also on the service road on eastern side of N S Road between Taraporewala Aquarium and Parsee Gymkhana from 8 am to 6 pm.

* Other restrictions:

U turn will not be permitted on M K road from 9 am to 6 pm on all the days. The police have also displayed sign boards to guide motorists.
