MUMBAI, December 4: Fourteen-year-old Mayur Mehta won the open sea swimming competition from Prongs Light Buoy to Naval Sailing Club, organised by Western Naval Command last week.

Mehta, a student of Sheth Motibhai Panchan Rashtriya Shala, clocked one hour, 45 minutes and forty seconds. The competition over six km drew 136 participants from Thane, Kalwa, Mumbai and the Navy.

Mehta who collected Rs 3,000 as top cash prize, finished ahead of Sandeep Varma at second spot and Vivek Merchant.
