Daily Despatches -- Show-cause notice issued to Gujarat minister

Gandhinagar: The Rashtriya Janata Party (RJP) has issued a show-cause notice to Gujarat Revenue Minister, Atmaram Patel, asking for explanation on his utterances over non-inclusion of four of his supporters in the Dilip Parikh ministry. Patel, who received the notice on Monday from one of the general secretaries of RJP, said he would forward his reply to the party leadership. Patel had made a statement to mediapersons on Thursday last that he would take up the issue with the party leadership over non-inclusion of four of his supporters in the RJP Government. The RJP leaders, who met here recently, took exception to Patel's statement and decided to ask Patel for an explanation, party sources said.

Case against trust for trespassing

Aurangabad: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has filed a CASE against Sant Janardan Swamy Trust for ``trespassing'' into the Ellora caves. The trust had organised ``Vishwa Shanti Dharma Samaroh'' on Monday to mark the eighth death anniversary of Sant Janardan Swamy near the world heritage caves and later thousands of its devotees took shelter in the caves. A 30,000-strong mob barged into the caves and started drying their clothes and answering nature's calls.
