Daily Despatches -- Five killed, two hurt in tanker collision near Nashik

NASHIK: Five persons, including three members of a family, were killed on the spot and two others seriously injured when the oil tanker in which they were travelling collided with a milk van on the Mumbai-Agra national highway, near here, early Wednesday. The accident occurred at village Bortembhe.

The deceased were identified as Mohmed Shakil Ahmed Shaikh, his wife Ruksana and son Raju, Bhima Sukdev Gaware (tanker driver) and Sakharam Ganpat Khilare. The seriously injured were admitted to the Nasik civil hospital, police said.

Goa Oppn start session with walk-out

PANAJI: The week-long winter session of the Goa Assembly commenced on Wednesday with a walk-out by the opposition Maharastrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and United Goans Democratic Party (UGDP) protesting against the refusal of the Speaker to postone their questions listed on Tuesday's agenda. The leader of the Oppostion, Dr Kashinath Jhalmi, led the walk-out joined by others.

Principal forges students marksheet

PUNE: Additional chief judicial magistrate N G Patil has issued a process against principal of the Young Men's Christian Association run Maharashtra English School for alleged forgery and falsification of documents like marksheets of a student. The order issuing process comes close on the heels of a private complaint filed by Virkumar Kunte through his advocate Vijay Chandavale, against the principal M Bharucha, alleging a plan to fail his son Rakesh Kunte.
