Parikh minister may withdraw resignation

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA

GANDHINAGAR, Dec 10: Gujarat minister of State for environment Upendrasinh Gohil who had tendered his resignation from the Dilip Parikh ministry yesterday is likely to withdraw the same.

Disclosing this to media persons, Chief Minister Dilip Parikh today said that he had a telephonic conversation with Gohil, who had agreed to withdraw the letter of resignation. Parikh said that Gohil had not attended the cabinet meeting today and added that he was confident that the latter will withdraw the letter.

Gohil had resigned in protest against non-compliance of the demand of the independent legislators who have been supporting the minority government.

Meanwhile, a showcause notice was served on Revenue Minister Atmaram Patel by the Rashtriya Janata Dal asking him to explain his utterances against the ministry formation. Patel had opposed the non-inclusion of his supporters in the ministry. Earlier, these supporters were ministers in the Shankarsinh Vaghela ministry.
