MUMBAI, December 10: Elections to the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa will be held on February 5 next year at Mumbai, Nagpur, Aurangabad and Panaji besides various district courts. Candidates should file their nominations along with the prescribed fee of Rs 2,000 between December 22 and January 5 to the secretary.

Interviews

The Maharashtra Subordinate Services Selection Board (MSSSB) will hold interviews for the post of the Junior Engineer (Mechanical) on December 22 and 23 at the board office at Mumbai.

Clarification

In the news report The Great Scam Shoes Sale, carried in Newsline on December 9, it was mentioned that the Bombay High Court has not directed Saddraddin Daya to open his shops, while Rafiq Tejani of Metro Shoes, Abu Azim Azmi of Citywalk and other accused in the cobbler scam have been directed to do so.This is factually incorrect. In fact, Daya, along with the other owners, has also been directed to reopen his shops by the court. Daya's advocate Majeed Memon said since he has a large number of shops, he is required to dispose off the shoes which will be up for auction of Friday. Dawood Shoes and Big Deal outlets will reopen within a week, he added.
