Weekend Retreat/Vijay Crishna

DEEPA DEOSTHALEE

Vijay Crishna, the managing director of Godrej-GE Appliances, barely finds any time to relax over the weekend. "1997 was not a year for unwinding and even my usual six-day week was not enough to pack in all my work. So, I have just devoted my weekends travelling around the country," he says. But when he does find the time, he likes to play squash and hockey or go hiking. "I also read a lot and exercise, may be even go out for a jog," he says.

And of course he specially makes some time for his passion -- theatre. Currently, Crishna is acting in Mahesh Dattani's Dance Like A Man and early next year he will start rehearsing for his next play. "It is not possible to insist on performing only over the weekends. So, I do rehearse and even find time for my shows in the evenings," he says. But the best way to unwind for this busy executive is to shut down all systems, completely. "Sometimes I enjoy putting my feet up and doing nothing," says Crishna.
