Shock for Sena, EC summons Thackeray

[Details] Barely twenty-four hours after asking the Sena-BJP Government not to dole out pre-poll largesse to the voters, the Election Commission has summoned Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on December 24 to explain his party's failure to hold organisational polls. The EC has threatened action against the Sena in the event of its failing to present its case on inner-party elections on the given date.

Hutus run amok, kill 231 in Kigali

[Details] Suspected Hutu rebels attacked a camp for Tutsi refugees in north-western Rwanda on Thursday, killing at least 231 people and wounding scores more. The attackers raided about 100 tents in the camp, which houses 1,000 refugees from the Masisi area in neighbouring Congo.

Hazare accuses CM of aiding Sahara project
