NAGPUR, Dec 23: Maharashtra Housing Minister Sureshdada Jain today announced that two lakh tenements would be ready by the end of next year to rehabilitate slum dwellers in Mumbai. Replying to a discussion on an opposition resolution, he said the Sena-BJP government would certainly carry out its promise of rehabilitating 40 lakh dwellers in the metropolis.

Earlier, leader of opposition in the legislative council Chhagan Bhujbal had alleged that the government was providing a bonanza to the builders by allowing them additional floor space index on the sites of slum-dwellers.
