Govt to float bonds to aid green drive

The Maharashtra forests minister Ganesh Naik has proposed floating of bonds to collect public money to strengthen the state's afforestation programme. The move has been necessitated as the government is hard-pressed with its finances. Also, the period of the World Bank-aided forestry project will end in September 1998.
