Sena threatens to boycott EC hearing

[Details] The Shiv Sena has threatened to boycott Wednesday's hearing by the Election Commission on the issue of the party's organisational elections if Election Commissioner G V G Krishnamurty attended it. The party has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Election Commissioner, M S Gill, to this effect.

Another RJP minister threatens to resign

[Details] Even as the dust settled over the controversy created by the resignation of state environment minister Upendrasinh Gohil, a similar threat by minister of state for social forestry and sports and youth services, Pratapsinh Patel, caused a flutter in the RJP government. He threatened to quit if his demand for a change in his portfolio is not granted by December 30.

No takers for Cong seat in Goa

[Details] The pre-poll scenario in Goa shows parties lacking confidence to face the people for the two Lok Sabha seats so soon after the 1996 elections. The faction-ridden Congress is in worst shape with no takers for its North Goa seat.
