BJP unscrupulous

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
PUNANA (HARYANA), Dec 28: The Congress today criticised the BJP for, what it said, adopting ``unscrupulous methods and double standards'' to grab power and said it alone can provide a stable government at the Centre. Addressing a rally here, top Congress leaders, including its vice-president Jitendra Prasada, Sharad Pawar and Ghulam Nabi Azad, lashed out at the United Front saying its constituents have failed to contain communal forces and allowed the BJP to gain strength by dividing secular votes.

Pawar said the Bharatiya Janata Party's sole aim was to spread the venom of communalism and hatred and it had no intention to serve the poor and the downtrodden.

Sharad Pawar said whenever the Congress was out of power at the Centre the country's economy was in doldrums as non-Congress governments failed to deliver the goods, weakening the solid foundation laid by Congress regimes.
