Majority sure

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VIJAYAWADA, Dec 28: BJP president L K Advani today exuded confidence that his party would be able to secure a comfortable majority in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a crowded press conference here, Advani said the BJP was not aiming at becoming the single largest party in the Lok Sabha, but it was aiming at securing the absolute majority.

He, however, said the party was sure of securing a comfortable majority if not an overwhelming one. Advani said the fight at the national-level in the Lok Sabha elections would be between the BJP and the Congress. The BJP chief described as ``myth'' the argument that the contest would be triangular, among the BJP, the Congress and the United Front.

Some consider the UF, which had ruled at the country for 18 months, as a third combatant in the elections, he said, adding that no single entity as the `United Front' would participate in the polls.''
