Gopal Tiwari seeks Pune seat

PUNE, Jan 2: Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress general secretary Gopal Tiwari has sought party nomination from the Pune Lok Sabha constituency. In a press statement, Tiwari said he was seeking nomination following the resignation of Suresh Kalmadi from the Congress. He added that it had always been the party's policy to give priority to youths while offering tickets.Tiwari, a former corporator, has also sent letters to the All India Congress Committee president Sitaram Kesri, former Chief Minister Sharad Pawar and the All India Youth Congress president Satyajitsing Gaikwad.
