Gujjar wins thriller

Chennai, Jan 4: Jodhpur resident Rajendra Gujjar used his fitness, to maximum effect to bounce back from an adverse situation and beat Ranjoth Singh Aneja 2-9, 10-9, 7-9, 9-4, 9-1 in the India Cements-MCC Senior National Squash Championship at MCC, on Sunday. Ranjoth, who was on the verge of going 2-0 up frittered away his chances towards the end of the match.

The walkover bug continued on the second day with seven players failing to turn up. Sixth seed Ritwik Bhattacharya (Delhi) had a rest day because G Vishwa Ganesh failed to turn up. Vijay Kumar Singh gave a walkover to Gajendra Rathore of Indore.
