RSS Mahashibir begins in style

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NAGPUR, January 9: The RSS Mahashibir got off to an impressive start with showering of flower petals from a low flying aircraft on a disciplined gathering of a record number over 31,000 swayamsewaks at the specially decorated Keshav Parisar in Chichbhavan along Wardha Road here.

Christened Samarasata Mahashibir, the four-day camp has attracted swayamsewaks belonging to different age groups, classes and castes from 2700 villages and towns in the region including remote tribal areas.

Befitting the occasion, the RSS Sarsanghchalak, Prof Rajendra Singh, highlighted the role of swayamsewaks in achieving the RSS goals.

The RSS chief urged them to work for expansion of the Sangh network. He was of the view that people need to be reminded of their common heritage and the glorious period of the Indian history. This is the common bond that links the modern day Indians. Weakening of this bond is leading to strife, conflicts and tensions between different communities and regions, he remarked.
