MUMBAI, January 9: India Blues Bombay, represented by Ashok Ruia, Ashok Goel, JM Shah, KR Venkataraman, Jitu Solani and Kamal Mukherjee, became the champion team in Tolani International Grand Prix Bridge, beating Indonesia at hotel Leela here today.In the final match, India Blues cornered Indonesia from the very beginning and built up a commanding lead of 94 International Match Points (197-103) at the end of the penultimate round of the 64-board match. At this stage, Indonesia conceded the match.
The winners took home Rs 2,00,000 and Indonesia, represented by Henky Lasut, Nurhamidin, Ferdy Waluyan and Denny Saoul, received Rs 1,00,000.
The losing semi-finalists Joggy and Dr Tolani received Rs 50,000 each.
