NEW DELHI, January 9: A march for road safety was flagged off today by Delhi Government Chief Secretary P.V. Jaikrishnan. The theme of the National Road Safety Week, being observed till January 11, is pedestrian safety.

More than 2,000 school children took part in the march which began at Vijay Chowk and terminated at the National Stadium. School children also took a Road Safety Pledge to follow traffic rules and regulations in Delhi and also to educate their family members and friends.

As a part of the celebrations, the Delhi Traffic Police has organised a number of activities to educate pedestrians. These include film shows, mobile exhibition vans, special training-cum-workshop for bus and truck drivers.
