CHANDIGARH, Jan 9: Nearly 300 rickshaw-pullers took part in a cycle-rickshaw race organised by the City Traffic Police in Sector 17 here this morning as part of the Ninth Road Safety Week.Describing the response as "overwhelming", senior police officials said that the race was organised to create awareness about traffic rules among the participants.
The rickshaw-pullers were judged on the basis of the minimum number of negative points awarded for each violation committed by them.
Shyam Sharma of Sector 40, Sukhdev of Sector 16, and Vinod Kumar of Sector 37 won the first three positions in the race respectively.
