I'll quit for Sonia: Kesri
The Congress leadership tussle has now taken a new twist. Party president Sitaram Kesri has offered to quit his post in favour of Sonia Gandhi. He called Sonia the "supreme leader" of the party, adding that he had the utmost respect for Sonia.

Laloo may not throw hat in the ring
Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Laloo Prasad Yadav is apparently having second thoughts about contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Laloo had earlier indicated that he would contest from Madhepura, a north Bihar constituency that sent Sharad Yadav to the last Lok Sabha.

Tiger changes stripes, Sena dumps Hindutva
The spate of court cases and its recent clashes with the Election Commission seem to have mellowed the Shiv Sena. The party's chief Bal Thackeray yesterday did a political reversal and wiped his hands off the Hindutva plank. Thackeray also announced that he favoured a national monument instead of Ram temple on the disputed site at Ayodhya.

No shadow PM for Cong: Azad
The Congress will not project a prime ministerial candidate for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, according to All India Congress Committee (AICC) convenor Ghulam Nabi Azad. Azad said that a party leader would be elected by the new members of Parliament, while adding that the Congress had not projected a leader even during the previous polls.
