EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AURANGABAD, Jan 13: The Beed police on Sunday arrested two government employees who were found to be actively participating in the election rally addressed by BJP's prime ministerial candidate Atal Behari Vajpayee at the Beed District Stadium recently. One of them, Kuldip Dhamale, an engineer with the minor irrigation project, acted as the master of ceremonies.

The other, Shashikant Joshi, attached to general administration of the Beed Zilla Parishad had played the tabla for the welcome song rendered at the rally. The two were arrested under Section 134 of the Peoples Representative Act and 188 of the Indian Penal Code.

It was only when a pressure group of citizens demanded action against the employees that the police decided to arrest the two government employees. Deputy CM Gopinath Munde, who hails from Beed also addressed the rally.
