MUMBAI, Jan 18: Orlem Sports Council (OSC) scored a 2-0 victory over Somlands in the final of the Hockey Association of Mumbai conducted Rizvi Fourth Division League at the St Andrew's ground, Bandra, today.Orlem went ahead in the first minute from a penalty corner by Galvin Alfonso and consolidated the lead through Bosco Rodrigues in the 40th minute.
The winners and runners-up were given trophies and individual gifts as well as cash prizes of Rs 8,000 and Rs 4,000, respectively. The player-of-the-tournament was Frank Rodrigues (Somlands) and the man-of-the-match was Franklyn Fernandes of OSC.
REPUBLICANS PREVAIL: Bombay Republicans A scored a 1-0 victory over Khalsa Gymkhana A in the Bombay Hockey Association Senior Division League at the Mahindra Stadium. Republicans converted a stroke through Vijay Alphonso to clinch victory.
In a Second Division match, Catholic Gymkhana thrashed MLWB, Goregaon, 6-0 with goals from Vally Picardo (2), Ryan Alphonso (2), Cedric Miranda and Charlestor
Lobo.
In Pool B of the third division, Khalsa XI beat Vasai Eskimos 5-0. Malkit Singh (3), Hardeep Singh and Nilesh Sawant were the scorers.
