Rapid chess tournament The Gokuldham Chess Club will hold an one day Rapid chess tournament on January 30 from 9 a.m. onwards at the BPCL Club, Bldg. 86, BPCL Quarters, Gokuldham, Goregaon East. The tournament will be conducted in four categories i.e. boys and girls under-11 and boys and girls under-17.Entries, which close on January 23, will be accepted at the Monginis Shop (Samrat Enterprises), Goregaon (East), close to the Goregaon Rly. station. The entries close on Monday, February 2, adds an MSSA release.BKS athletic meet from Feb 1 The Bombay Keraleeya Samaj's (BKS) annual athletic meet will be held at the Khalsa College ground, Matunga on February 1. BKS would also be staging the 34th RG Nair Memorial 10-km walk, 20th PN Krishnan Memorial 10-km walk for juniors and the veterans 10-km walk on February 8. The races would get under way from Shivaji Park.Entry forms and other details of the athletic meet and the 10-km walk can be obtained from the BKS office, Kerala Bhavanam, 16-A, KA Subramaniam road, Matunga (Tel: 4012366 & 4024280) The last date for accepting entries for the athletic meet is Janaury 24 (till 8 p.m.) and for the long-distance races is February 3 upto 8 p.m.
