Baha'is celebrate World Religion Day

CHANDIGARH, January 18: There is a need to highlight the positive role played by religion in guiding humanity in its present crisis. This was stated by Prof Anil Sarwal, chairman of the local spiritual assembly of the Baha'is, while introducing the topic ``Religion for Unity'' as they celebrated the World Religion Day, today.

He lamented that religion was generally perceived as a cause of disunity, discord and hatred. Representatives of five major religions spoke on the theme. Quoting extensively from Baha'i writings, DC K.K. Khandelwal called upon the followers of all religions to submerge their theological differences and contemplate working for the advancement of humanity.
