  Legal opinion sought to lift veil on Bofors
Government has sought legal opinion from experts to make public the Bofors documents, including the names of the recipients of the kickback in the controversial Rs 1500 crore gun deal, Railway Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said. He further maintained that the Centre was not in a position to make the document public following Swiss court order.
  India pack a world record to claim Cup in Dhaka
India yesterday scored a record victory over Pakistan in the third final of the three-nation Independence Cup in Dhaka to lift the winners trophy. Set to score an almost impossible 315 to win in 48 overs, India achieved the target off the penultimate ball. India's victory was achieved with the help of invaluable knocks from opener Ganguly and Robin Singh.

Gujarat BJP may see another Vaghela
Around 14 MLA's and two MPs have written to L K Advani and Atal Behari Bajpayee complaining of step-motherly treatment meted to them by Modi-Patel camp. They have sent their complaints through former chief minister Suresh Mehta. These MLAs and MPs are suspected to be "moderates and semi-Khajurias not loyal to the party", claim sources.

SP's Bihar tie-up adds to UF woes
Seat-Sharing glitches among United Front partners became more complicated with Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav announcing an electoral tie-up with Jagannath Mishra's Bihar Jan Congress (BJC) in Bihar. The move will pave the way for SP to bargain for more seats from the Janata Dal in the State so as to be able to share them with the BJC.
SAD-BJP will sweep all LS seats, predicts Mittal
Punjab Food and Supplies Minister Madan Mohan Mittal has predicted that SAD-BJP combine will sweep all Punjab Lok Sabha seats which are going to polls on February 16. He further expressed confidence over winning 11 Punjab parliamentary seats.
