Guwahati, Jan 20: The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has fielded Dr Jayashree Goswami Mahanta, wife of Assam Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, in the Lok Sabha poll and denied ticket to Union Minister and sitting MP Muhiram Saikia.According to the first list released today, except for the Saikia, all the four other sitting MPs were retained. Saikia has been replaced by Dr Jayashree Mahanta in the prestigious Nagaon constituency, considered a bastion of the AGP.
Union Minister of Steel and Mines Birendra Prasad Baishya would contest from Mangaldoi.
