Punjab Police retain trophy

PATIALA, January 22: Punjab Police retained the overall championship (men) for the Kishore Sahu Trophy at the 51st Avon Senior, Junior and sub-junior National Cycling championship at the Punjabi University Velodrome today. They finished with a tally of 37 points. Railways took the second position, scoring 30 points. The Railway women clinched the overall championship for women with 34 points.RESULTS Seniors: Men: 4000m Pursuit: Pradeep Singh 5:20.30 (pp), Varmeet Singh (PP), Gurnam Singh (Rly); 1000m Sprint: Kirpal Singh 12.65 (Rly), AR Sajji Kumar (Rly), Rakesh Kumar (PP); 20 km Point Race: Kirpal Singh 55 pts (Rly), Trilochan Singh (Rly), Ramaninder Singh (PP)
