MTNL bids to be more user-friendly 

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
NEW DELHI, January 22: Subscribers can expect to have a smooth experience with their ever cranky telephones if the new recipe offered by the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) shapes up well.

The company's Chief General Manager, N K Dua announced a number of measures which should make telephone services in the Capital trouble free and more customer friendly.

Among the new services, A new number 1662 is being made functional from Friday which will enable the telephone users to lodge complaints of excess billing and other billing related problems.

Besides this, a night emergency help service will be introduced at numbers 371-0911, 3720911 and 3350911 for customers in distress. The customer service centre at the telephone exchanges will provide walk-in-service to the customers. A round the clock helpline service will be provided at number 3313434 for people whose complaints are not attended within 48 hours of fault booking on 198/ 2198. A new number 1097 would be made operational for information and counselling on AIDS.
