Kyrgyzstan, PU sign MoU on admission of students

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, January 22: Students from Kyrgyzstan shall be studying at the Panjab University from the next academic session, following the signing of a memorandum of agreement between the Panjab University and the International University of Kyrgyzstan.

Panjab University shall be providing seats in courses in Masters in International Business (MIB), Masters in Business Administration (MBA), LL.B., Computer Science and Language courses. The first batch of students is expected to be admitted from the beginning of the next session.

President of the International University of Kyrgyzstan, Asylbek A. Aidaraliev while talking to Chandigarh Newsline said that while they have similar agreements with universities at San Francisco, and Hanover in Germany, education in these universities was expensive. ``We will prefer to send students to India where education is cheaper,'' he said. A batch of 30 students is already studying at the Central Institute of Foreign Languages (CIFL), Hyderabad.

Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof M.M. Puri said that the university has agreed to assign professional and support staff and instructional services to implement the projects. Following the MoU, supplemental agreements will also be signed.
