NEW DELHI, January 22: Three quick goals in the last chukker gave Equisport a 6-3.5 goal victory over Imperial Polo in the quarter-final of the Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Scindia of Gwalior Gold Cup, a 12-goal tournament, at the Jaipur polo grounds here today.The match was keenly contested till the third chukker in which Imperial Polo were leading 3.5-3 before Equisport changed the game with three quick goals. Pablo Jauretche, a six-goal player from Argentina, scored three goals while Digvijay Singh (2) and Angad Kalaan were the other goal scorers for the winners. Lokendra Singh, Philip Elliot and Basheer Ali scored once each for Imperial Polo, who started with a half goal on handicap.
In another match, the Jodhpur team received a walkover from Aravali-Jindal as Marcos Panelo from Argentina could not come. The winner's team comprised Adhiraj Singh, Angad Kalaan, Pablo Jauretche and Digvijay Singh while for Imperial Pritam Singh, Basheer Ali, Philip Elliot and Lokendra Singh played.
