AMBALA CANTONMENT, January 22: The Services boxers continued to dominate on the fourth day of the 44th Senior National Boxing championships in the quarterfinal level at the War Heroes Memorial Stadium here today.Among their prominent boxers, the irrepressible Dingko Singh had a very easy sail into the semifinals in the bantam weight category. The diminutive Services boxer who has been in smashing form, knocked out his quarterfinal opponent Feroze Jaleel Khan of Andhra Pradesh in the first round. Another of their top boxers Tuk Bahadur Thapa proved so intimidating for his Jammu and Kashmir rival Sandip Singh that the latter retired from the contest in the first round itself.
Punjab, who finished a creditable third behind Railways in the last Nationals held at Calcutta, saw six of their quarterfinalists knocked out of the championships. Among the winners, super heavy weight champion Harpal Singh was the most impressive. He scored a RSC (outclassed) decision over last year's heavy weight champion Anil Mann
of Railways, who graduated into the higher weight category this year. He took just over a minute to knock down his shorter opponent .
