Soy packs a punch in every bean: Experts
"An apple a day will keep the doctor away" is a phrase of the past. Scientists in the US have now moooted the soybean as the wonderfood for humankind. Recent experiments, conducted to determine the potential of the soybean, reveal that regular consumption of soy dimished the chances of cancer, heart ailments and osteoporosis. The miraculous abilities of soy have been attributed to the presence of isoflavones, an estrogen-like component found in abundance in soy.

Many takers for Clinton peccadilloes
Most Americans believe President Bill Clinton had a sexual affair with a young White House intern, but only 39% believe he told her to lie about it. This was the finding of a poll by conducted by CNN/USA Today. The poll also showed that 49% of the respondents believed that Clinton had lied under oath about his relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

India lacks quake research centre despite colossal losses
India, inspite of the producing the largest amount of seismic activity in the world and suffering losses worth Rs 3,500 crore as a result of the last two earthquakes alone, does not have a seismological policy or research institute. Japan, China, and even Nepal, have institutes to study quakes, a facility sorely lacking in India.
