Woodies for Indian Open

CALCUTTA: Australians Mark Woodforde and Todd Woodbridge, better known as the Woodies in the tennis doubles circuit, have confirmed their entry for the Gold Flake Indian Open to be held in Chennai in April. The Woodies add to the glamour in the event which will also see the likes of Boris Becker and Patrick Rafter. The Australian pair has won five Wimbledon doubles crown besides two US Open and two world Championships.

Boxing camp

AMBALA: The Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF) will select 36 probables for a camp at Patiala from February 2 to March 30 as part of the preparations for the Asian Games in December. The probables would be given exposure in foreign competitions starting with a tournament in Sofia, (Bulgaria) from February 18-23. They will then take part in the Mayor's Cup in the Philippines from Feb 21-25.
