BHOPAL, Jan 28: After having reluctantly accepted to contest the Rajgarh Lok Sabha seat, former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief minister Kailash Joshi who returned from a tour of the constituency alleged that the whole region was reeling under the terror of Congress led by Chief Minister Digvijay Singh.Joshi's opponent in Rajgarh is Laxman Singh, Digvijay's younger brother who is the sitting MP. Joshi said that he had formed his opinion after talking to the people and that he had been given a list of bureaucrats who were being used by the Congress administration to perpetuate the reign of terror.
Commenting on the development in the Chief Minister's home base he said that it is an example of directionless progress as the town has one of the best bus station but no buses indicating that it had been made only to fill pockets.
Joshi accepted that he had been reluctant when he had been asked by the party to contest but now he had made up his mind and would file his nomination papers on January 31st atdistrict head quarters.
Joshi said that he had suggested another former chief minister Virendra Saklecha's name for the Rajgarh seat but the high command had decided differently.
He, however did not discount the possibility of some changes in the BJP list by the time the final date of filing nomination arrives. ``It is now up to the party president L K Advani to withdraw any name, the State unit can do little,'' he said.
Joshi's views are shared by some other senior leaders who feel that candidates in Jabalpur, Rewa and Bhopal may be changed if the Congress puts up tough opponents.
