EC books 108 cases in TN for defacing walls

CHENNAI, Feb 4: The EC has registered 108 cases of wall defacement in Tamil Nadu under section three of the Tamil Nadu Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act, 1959 against various political parties for writing of slogans and symbols on the walls of public and private properties and Government buildings.Chief Electoral Officer KA Mathew has warned severely that no such defacement will be allowed further and stern action will be taken against all those who violate the provisions of the Act.
