JOHANNESBURG, February 5: South African cricket captain Hansie Cronje will undergo a knee operation later today and looks likely to miss the first Test against Pakistan which starts on February 13.Cronje has torn the outer cartilage on his right knee and will have an operation in Cape Town.
United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCBSA) Managing Director Dr Ali Bacher said ``he experiences pain, particularly when he sprints, runs twos and threes and when he bends.''
Bacher did not completely rule out Cronje's participation in the first Test at the Wanderers, but definitely expected him back for the second Test starting in Durban on February 26.
