PANCHGANI, February 7: To mark the completion of 75 years of its existence recently, the Sanjeewan Vidyalaya here laid the foundation stone for a `Living and Learning Complex', aimed at promoting scientific research among students.Inaugurating the centre, University of Pune Vice-Chancellor, Dr Vasant Gowariker, lauded the success of Indian scientists in the field of research and technology and predicted that the country would soon become a world power.
``Nothing can stop India from becoming self-sufficient in every field. Our thriving democracy, responsible for our progress, has been our greatest achievement so far,'' he said.
Dr N A Kalyani, industrialist, and a former student at the Sanjeewan Vidyalaya, tracing the development of the school since its early days, said that the years spent in the campus had been a great source of inspiration for him.
Later Dr J J Rawal, director, Nehru Planetarium, Mumbai, laid the foundation stone for the Bodhe Astronomy Centre at the site of the complex.
