Imelda bids for presidency, vows "decency"
Imelda Marcos, who has been convicted of graft and faces 12 years in jail, formally filed her bid for the Philippine presidency, vowing to bring "decency" to the office, along with the Marcos wealth to ease the country's economic slump. She said that she is seeking the presidency in the May elections to ensure that the Marcos wealth through the Marcos foundation will go directly to the Filipino people.

Saamna faces action for `paid news'
Satara district returning officer Vandana Khullar initiated action against Saamna the mouthpiece of ruling Shiv Sena party in the State and four other newspapers for violating People's Representation Act, 1951. In a stern action against the "paid news" , Khullar had registered offences against Saamna, Pudhari, Belgaum Tarun Bharat, Aikya and Gramodhar newspapers.
