Nath Valley School to launch a residential section for boys

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AURANGABAD, February 10: The Nath Valley School, a co-educational day boarding school which has changed the profile of education in Aurangabad for the better, since its inception five years back, is now throwing its doors open to launch its residential section for boys, from the new term beginning June.

The school tucked in the basin of the serene Ajanta hills range, in Satara village, on the Paithan road, seven km away from Aurangabad rests on a sprawling 20 acres of land. The school which currently has a strength of 525 boys and girls, will now admit an addition of 80 boys in the residential school.

Ranjit Dass, principal of Nath Valley School reveals that ``we have already got several enquiries from all parts of Maharashtra. We wish to admit boys from std V to std IX. Plans for a girls' hostel, which is already on the anvil, should be ready within a couple of years.''

In order to fill the void of a good public school in Aurangabad which has been a bubbling industrial city since the past decade, several industrialists from Pune, Mumbai and Aurangabad came together. In 1990 they set up the Aurangabad Vidya Mandir Trust. With the help of renowned educational consultants the school was set up in 1992 with the land being magnanimously donated by Nandkishor Kagliwal, a noted industrialist.

The Nath Valley School, named after Sant Eknath, the renowned Marathi Bhakti poet is the fruition of relentless efforts by noted personalities, Kumud Bajaj, Pradeep Dhoot, Rajesh Kapadia, Mukund Bhogale, Nandkishor Kagliwal, Arvind Machhar, T N Vishwanathan and other industrialists. Kumud Bajaj has spent hours on finalising on the design of the school along with architects Nachiket and Jayu Patwardhan.

The amiable environs at the Nath Valley School which is away from the hustle bustle of Aurangabad city, is evident in the discipline that blends with warmth.

Devendra Kapadia, vice-principal of the school who was a mathematics teacher in the renowned Doon's School in Dehra Dun, said ``our school blends the besttradition of a public school with modern education techniques. The rapport with the students is immense and they realise that they are in a dynamic atmosphere and hence, despite uncompromising discipline there is an uncompromising bond of affection between the students and the teachers. The school comprises classes from std I to std XII, with only 25 students in each class.

Self-study periods which are a regular feature in this school, should relieve the parents of the burden of homework.
