  Muster steals march over Stolle
Defending champion Thomas Muster of Austria waltzed past talented Australian Sandon Stolle 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4 in the first round of the $1 million Dubai Tennis Open. In another exciting contest on the opening day of the ATP World series event, Wayne Ferreira of South Africa fought back to overcome Javier Sanchez of Spain 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 7-5.

Raul, Agarkar slam unbeaten tons
Sanjay Raul and Ajit Agarkar, who came up with a superb all-round display, slammed unbeaten centuries and piled up 208 runs for their unfinished seventh wicket as the three-day India A match against Peshawar Association XI that ended in a draw on Monday. Middle-order bat Raul slammed 114 not out and Agarkar, coming in at number seven, weighed in with an unbeaten 109 (135 balls) in just over three hours.

Aussies have a Waugh party
Australia proved themselves a class above New Zealand when they crushed their hosts by 66 runs at the Basin Reserve on Monday to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in a four-match series. Australia also won the first match by a wide margin at Christchurch on Sunday.
Betting: BCCI sues Outlook, Prabhakar
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) went on the offensive in the betting and match-fixing controversy afflicting Indian cricket, by slapping a Rs 5 crore defamation suit against Manoj Prabhakar and Outlook in the Mumbai High Court. The suit, filed by BCCI's secretary Jaywant Lele as the plaintiff, has Prabhakar as one of the defendants along with Outlook's owners, president and publisher, editor and its staff reporters.
