Kesri sticks to charge on RSS hand in blasts

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, February 20: The controversy over Sitaram Kesri's remarks suspecting RSS hand in the serial bomb blasts in Coimbatore took a new turn today with the Congress president sticking to the charge and dismissing reports of his having backtracked on the issue.

Answering a volley of questions from media persons in the wake of his reported denial on the issue from Indore, Kesri said that he has not denied whatever he had said about the RSS at a press conference here on Sunday.

"Humne jo kuch kaha hai, use deny nahi kiya hai.... Bahut din ke baad RSS court me aaya hei. Yahi to hum chahate the. Ab sari batein khulke samne aayegi. Hum darnewale nahi hai. Court me unka muqabala karenge.....Pahli baar RSS faasa hai" (I have not denied whatever I had said...RSS has come to court after a long time. This is what we wanted. Now everything will come out in the open. We are not afraid. We will counter them in court...RSS has been trapped for the first time), Kesri said.

Describing the RSS as a "fascist"organisation, he suggested that it was wrong to involve the courts in the matter because in politics if something is said it is replied in the same language. "There should be an open debate in democracy on every issue".
