GUWAHATI, February 20: Assam Minister of State for Science and Technology, Haji Abdul Rouf today resigned from the council of ministers and demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta.Rouf, a prominent minority leader, who had played an important role in garnering the support of religious minorities of the state for the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) before the 1996 general elections, has rushed his resignation letter to Mahanta today, complaining that the leadership as well as the government had failed to deliver the goods.
