Tendulkar bags Adidas contractMUMBAI: Sachin Tendulkar became the first cricketer from the sub-continent to be contracted by sports goods giant Adidas.
Tendulkar will endorse the company's apparels and accessories for a period of six years for an undisclosed amount, it was announced here today.
However, the sum is believed to be in the region of Rs six crores.
The company began their assault on the Indian market earlier this month by signing Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi -- No 3 doubles combination in world tennis.
BCCI meeting
MUMBAI: The senior tournaments committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is to meet here tomorrow to decide on the outcome of the controversially abandoned Ranji Trophy Super League match between Delhi and Tamil Nadu at Chennai.
PR Punjabi, the match referee for the Feb 14-17 tie in Chennai which was abandoned because of the ``tampered pitch'' at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, and colleague Dara Dotiwala are the other twospecial invitees for the meeting, it was announced by the BCCI here today.

CSJC awards
CALCUTTA: Calcutta Sports Journalists Club will honour four veteran sports persons and a sports administrator on the 50th year of India's independence, CSJC secretary S Sabanayakan announced here today.
Sabanayakan said that Olympians Sailen Manna (football), Leslie Claudius (hockey), former Test star Pankaj Roy (cricket) and Davis Cupper Naresh Kumar would be felicitated by the CSJC. President of the international cricket control board and former secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Jagmohan Dalmiya would be feted as an administrator.
