Mutola sets World record

LIEVIN, (FRANCE), February 22: Former outdoor world champion Maria Mutola of Mozambique set a world indoor record today at 800 metres of one minute 56.36 seconds, surpassing the old mark of 1:56.40 set by Christine Wachtel of East Germany on February 13, 1988.Mutola, 25, who finished second last season at 800 metres in the World Outdoor Championships to Cuba's Ana Quirto, has won the world indoor 800 title three straight times.
