EC orders repoll in Bihar and UP

NEW DELHI, FEB 23: The Election Commission today ordered repoll in 327 polling stations in Madhepura Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar and in 158 polling stations in Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh following large-scale complaints of booth capturing and announced that repoll in the entire Patna constituency would be conducted on March 30. The commission has so far ordered repoll in 3,934 constituencies where polling was held on February 16, with Bihar accounting for 2,527 repolls.Repoll in Madhepura will be held on February 27 and in Baghpat on February 28. In Madhepura, RJD chief Laloo Prasad Yadav is pitted against JD president Sharad Yadav. In Baghpat, Bharatiya Kisan Kamgar Party leader Ajit Singh is facing Samajwadi Party candidate Merajuddin and BJP nominee Som Pal.
