NEW DELHI, FEB 25: India's row with the United States over a Texan company being given patent for basmati rice is being watched eagerly by the European Commission (EC) since it could have wider ramifications, a top EC official has said.``We are watching the tussle on the basmati patent as it could have repercussions on other products and countries,'' ambassador and head of EC delegation in India, Michael B McGreever said. EC would not like to involve itself and prefers both countries to settle the matter on their own, he said.
