SRINAGAR, February 27: Omer Abdullah returned home after a hectic campaigning across Srinagar constituency, guarded by his dad's trusted securityman N P Singh. He looked relaxed at the end of the first spell of his political life.He was all fire against the Congress and the BJP during his electioneering. ``We will never allow anybody to tamper with Article 370 and Muslim personal law. BJP will never be allowed to interfere in our religious matters by introducing a Uniform Civil Code'', Omer roared everywhere.
Back home this evening, Col Ram Singh, a noted BJP leader and his father-in-law was waiting for him, certainly not to discuss any politics. On the other hand, National Conference headquarters wore a deserted look as the workers concluded their election campaign for the Srinagar constituency at senior NC leader Ghulam Mohidin Shah's residence.
Fatigued and yet enthusiastic workers were very optimistic regarding the victory of Omer. A group of youth National Conference activists were engaged incollecting the flags and banners from their vehicles.
Omer was not accompanied by his dad today as the Chief Minister was out to address election rallies in Doda district.
The rival camp of Congress was all out to exhibit a good public show, as a large gathering was held in Budgam district besides taking out a big car rally through city markets.
