  Kalyan drops BJP minister, 2 more
Barely 14 hours after he won the crucial composite floor test in the Assembly, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh today dropped three ministers from his Cabinet including his rival Jagdambika Pal.
  BJP persuading Loktantrik Cong for merger
The BJP is reportedly trying to persuade the 19-member Loktantrik Congress Party (LCP) in UP to merge with the party in order to impart a measure of stability to the Kalyan Singh government. Sources said that negotiations for ministries as well as for a merger were going on simultaneously in Lucknow.

CBI to probe Cogentrix
The Karnataka High Court on Friday ordered a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the alleged kickbacks in the setting up of the Rs 4200 crore coal-based power plant by Cogentrix Engineering at Mangalore.
